Women’s Programming in March

women's historyMarch is Women’s History Month. It is organized by the National Women’s History Project. The theme for 2014 is “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment.” To celebrate Women’s History Month in your library, start by checking out the 2014 Honorees and seeing if you have resources about them in your collection.

The Programming Librarian has a helpful post linking to additional resources for planning programming at your library. American Libraries has a post with specific programming ideas, including:

  • Interview local women to create an oral history record
  • Highlight the efforts of local women
  • Honor local girls for their achievements
