Pi Day

pi dayPi Day is March 14 (3.14)! March 14 is also Einstein’s birthday. It’s a great time to celebrate with some STEM programming in the library!

Pi Day was founded by a physicist at the Exploratorium. They have suggestions for activities you can do to learn about pi.

For other ideas, Education World has a long list of resources and lesson plans for helping you plan a Pi Day celebration. Mensa also has pi activities for kids.

Since science is the theme of this year’s summer reading program, check out our 2014 Summer Reading Pinterest board for ideas on hosting an event with a science theme! There are lots of ideas for food and decorations.

How are you integrating STEM in your library programs? Share your ideas in the comments!
