Office Exercise


How do I fit more exercise into my day?– This is a common predicament for most office workers like myself. Even if you want to make the effort sometimes you forget and get carried away with work. Not to worry–as with almost anything nowadays–there’s an app for that.

FitBolt is an app that you can use on multiple devices and it sends you an exercise notification every 30 minutes. It breaks the exercise down and shows you how to do it. The free edition features stretching and other simple exercises that you can do for 30 seconds at your desk. FitBolt also rates the exercise by difficulty and goofiness so you know what you are getting into. You can track your progress on the dashboard, rate the exercise, or change to another exercise if you don’t like one. The app will also link to other fitness programs like FitBit, RunKeeper, and Dailymile.

There are a number of free exercise/nutrition apps out there that can help you get up and moving. This is just one that I have experience with so do some research and see if you can find one that fits your tastes. We spend a large portion of our day sitting at desks so any help in getting moving can be very beneficial. It is a good way to see what exercise you get now and then you can brainstorm ways of increasing it.
